How to Measure the Benefit Your Product or Service Offers

May 1st, 2008 by bhagvatpilotte

By Joe Love Measuring the benefit of your product or service means putting a specific value on the advantage it offers. For example, its ineffective to say your light bulbs are brighter and last longer than the competitions. Youve got to let people know that theyre 50% brighter and last two times as long! Your dry cleaning methods arent just better, theyre three times more likely to remove stubborn stains than traditional methods. Your chiropractic techniques arent just effective, theyre clinically proven to reduce back pain for 95% of patients. And so on. The more specific you are about the superior performance, benefit, or advantage of your product or service, the more successful your marketing message will be, regardless of the medium you use. The reason is simple: Consumers hear claims of product superiority all the time. Theyve become immune. Theyve learned to tune out this generic fluff. But a specific claim carries much more weight. It gives credibility to your arguments. It resonates with the potential purchaser and makes your claim stand out from the rest. Think about it. All other things being equal, if you’re buying a product or a service and one does very little for you and one does seemingly two or three times more for you, which one are you going to buy? The choice is simple. But how do you measure the value of your product or service? Start by examining what goes into your product or service. If you are not the manufacturer or creator of it, you must go to whomever is, you must go to the source. Ask them to share with you all their data, all the clinical, technical, research, testing, and compatibility data they may have accumulated on the product or service in application. You need to focus on three things: 1. What was the product engineered to do and why? 2. What components went into it to assure that it would perform? 3. What process did they go through to create the product or service? In other words, if the purpose of a manufacturers pipe is to transport fluid underground and last for 30 years, what makes the manufacturer think it will do that? Well, they probably tested it. They probably manufactured it with material that was corrosion-proof and resistant to freezing under temperatures far below zero. Youve got to find out all those factors. In addition, youve got to analyze the process that was necessary to create the product or service. For example, if you own a clothing store, perhaps you traveled 20 times around the country and attended over 60 different trade shows to find the best merchandise, or get the best values for your customers. Perhaps you looked at 150 separate manufacturing lines to be able to choose 25 that were unique and fashionable enough to be sold in your store. Once you have analyzed what went into the creation or production of the your product or service, the next thing you want to do is ask, How does it compare against the competition. For example, if you are offering a suit thats $500 and a competitor is offering a suit thats $500 But yours is made with 25% silk If that difference is something that adds value, you should say so. Remember, however, that its very important to translate value into an end-result benefit for your customer. In other words, dont just say that because the suit is made of 25% silk it is better. That may be true but unless your customer is a tailor, Its a meaningless claim. You have to explain to your customer that the 25% silk content will make the suit hold its shape better, respond to dry cleaning better, last an average of 50% longer for the same amount of money. Dont sell the features for any reason other than for their logical connection to a benefit or a result. The only reason features are even relevant is because they are a conduit, or a bridge for you to take the customer over to reach a bottom-line benefit. For example, if youre selling flat screen or plasma televisions, what is the ultimate benefit? The benefit may be four times more clarity or four times more realistic picture than any other screen you can buy for up to twice the money. Youve got to look at it that way, translating the feature into a tangible benefit for the customer. When comparing your product or service to your competitors, according to customer survey results, the most effective comparisons deal with performance. The second most effective factor is composition, the components, elements, or ingredients. This is followed by the process that went into creating it, and lastly, the design or standards on which its based. Although, these survey results apply most directly to products it also applies to services as well. For example, an accountant, may promote that he or she will save you 45% off of your annual tax bill which is the most effective (performance). Slightly less effective would be a claim that he or she would focus on 12 specific deductions that are often overlooked (composition). And even less effective would be if the accountant states that he or she has more than 400 hours of continuing education thereby keeping up on the latest accounting techniques (process). Never overlook the value that your existing customers can give you. Interview them in person or in phone. You can have them complete questionnaires in the customer only section of your Web site or simply e-mail a customer questionnaire to them. Explain to them that you want to know how your product or service performs in their own personal experience. In the interview or the questionnaire start off by taking them back to a time before they were using your product or service, when they were using either an alternative or nothing at all. Find out what it was like for them. The best part of getting information directly from you customers, is that, in the process, you are going to get excited about the value, benefit, and meaning you make in a customers life. And as you get more excited, you are going to sell with more certainty, conviction, and passion. Youre going to realize, maybe for the first time, that your product or service adds enormous, tangible, and measurable meaning to someones life. The sooner you measure the value and benefits of your product or service, the sooner your bottom line will begin to skyrocket! Copyright 2005 by Joe Love and JLM & Associates, Inc. Why Buy Handmade Soap

April 28th, 2008 by bhagvatpilotte

By Jeffrey Dorrian More and more people are choosing to purchase handmade soap. In the beginning, people turned toward these products because they were crafty, unique and smelled good. What they did not realize is that handmade soap is also very good for your skin. Handmade soap is made with natural ingredients that actually help to replenish the skin and add moisture where other conventional soaps, such as some commercial brands, may have stripped. The harsh ingredients found in many commercial brands can actually dry out the skin, which takes away its natural moisture and may lead to damage. Handmade soap, on the other hand, contains natural ingredients that are healthy for the skin and are less likely to cause irritation. In fact, many users have found that handmade soap is especially beneficial to individuals with otherwise sensitive skin. Because each bar of handmade soap is carefully crafted, the quality of each bar is never compromised. Unlike machine made brands, handmade soap is made with pride and craftsmanship. It takes a creative mind to produce the various combinations, scents and shapes of handmade soap. Easily found at craft fairs, specialty stores and online, handmade soap is more than a cleansing product - it is an art and the people who create each bar are artists in their own right. During the winter months especially, many people suffer from dry and cracked skin. Its uncomfortable, embarrassing and can make even the simplest motion of bending a finger a painful occurrence. While not designed to specifically cure chapped skin, handmade soap does help to add moisture and rejuvenate the natural texture of the surface. When skin becomes chapped, it is because the moisture is stripped away during cold weather, elevated heat temperatures inside the home and lack of moisture in the air. Many people buy handmade soap because it helps to prevent dry, itchy skin. One of the main ingredients, which is known as aloe, is derived from the inner part of an aloe leaf and is commonly used to treat burns, rashes and insect bites. Aloe actually helps to heal wounds, which is why it is so beneficial to individuals with dry or irritated skin. People buy handmade soap for a variety of reasons. Many for its beauty and for a nice bathroom decor. Some purchase it as a focal point, but never actually use it because they dont want to disturb its appearance. Others purchase handmade soap for its many benefits to the skin and for the fact that its natural ingredients lend a hand to those with allergies to commercial brands. Whatever the reason, handmade soap is very popular and often finds its way into the home of anyone who wants to treat their skin to the luxurious treatment that it deserves. Jeffrey Dorrian is the soap guy. Really, that is his website http://www.thesoapguy.com He has been making premium olive oil soap for the past five years. “Handmade soap is a true inexpensive luxury anyone can enjoy.”wholesale soap Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jeffrey_Dorrian http://EzineArticles.com/?Why-Buy-Handmade-Soap&id=149184 fair 610 credit score credit card for people with poor credit mortgage rates based on credit score bad credit letter

Women as Catholic Priests: The Time for Change is Now

April 26th, 2008 by bhagvatpilotte

By Stella Ramsaroop In ancient Rome, the cradle of democracy, women had no rights. Their place was in the home under the custody and control of the master of the house, which would often be the husband or father. Her job was to take care of the house and family. She had no vote, could not govern, nor even conduct her own affairs without the oversight of a man. These are actions viewed as crude and uncivilized by todays standards. However, even during these primitive times of democracy women were still allowed to be priestesses in Rome. The Vestal Virgins were honored and revered by men and women alike for their years of sacrifice and service to the Goddess Vesta. So how is it that over two thousand years later, the Catholic Church still refuses to ordain women for service in the Church as priests? Admittedly, it has been only very recently that most of humanity has decided to allow women the privilege of being acknowledge as an equal with men. In fact, it is only within the last century that American women have been allowed to vote or hold a political position. However, during this time womens rights have made significant advances. Women now work outside the house, hold political office even at a national level, have ready access to equal education, and yes, they even conduct religious services in many religions. Even Jewish congregations have women serving as rabbis. In fact, a woman was recently selected to replace the retiring male rabbi of a conservative congregation with over 500 families. This is a first for Conservative Judaism, which ordained its first female rabbi in 1985. I have the utmost respect for Scripture and its importance in society, so I do recognize the passage from the Apostle Paul requiring women to be silent in churches and saying it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in church. Paul instructs the women to wait till they get home to ask their husbands any questions they may have about the service. (1 Corinthians 14:33-35) Having acknowledged the importance of Scripture, my reverence for the Bible, and my knowledge of Pauls teaching; I now admit that I vehemently disagree with the sexism of this passage. I think it is important to recognize the culture from which Paul is speaking. In fact, Paul was a Roman citizen. He was raised in the type of backward culture we have already acknowledged as crude and uncivilized by todays standards and his remarks on this subject are no doubt a result of his cultural upbringing. The Church has always accommodated change as humanity has grown and matured. Even Pope John Paul II, who passed this week, met with the leaders of countries who were far from Christian. He met with Islamic leaders, Jewish leaders, and even rock stars like Bono from U2. These are all people the Church would have condemned or even burned at the stake for their heretical beliefs or ungodly actions during The Middle Ages. Likewise, it is time for the Catholic Church to mature to the level of accepting that women are equally viable as a candidate for priesthood as men. The times of believing women are on a lesser plane - whether intellectually, socially, or spiritually are long over and the Vatican would do well to acknowledge this fact. The Churchs churlish remarks on women serving in the role of a priest are dated and a clear demonstration of the need for a more progressive Pope that will be more responsive to the changing times and to the disenfranchised women of the Catholic Church, whose ministerial participation has dropped significantly over the last few decades. I pray the soul of Pope John Paul II finds peace and comfort in the Kingdom of Heaven. He deserves so much for his sacrifice and service to the Church and to God, I also pray the next Pope will override John Paul IIs remarks on women in the priesthood and allow the Church step into the 21st century. If this happens, perhaps one day we will have a female Pope. Now that would be something to praise God about. The Bigger the Carat the Better the Wedding?

April 24th, 2008 by bhagvatpilotte

By Donna Monday Ahh . . . sweet romance. The flowers. The chocolate. The late night whispers of I love you. For most people in love, the culmination of months of togetherness and special friendship comes down to one single moment: The marriage proposal - - featuring a simple, but elegant, diamond engagement ring. Of course, if youre a celebrity, a simple ring may not have enough wattage to suit your tastes. Thus, we see many celebrities sporting five-carat to seven-carat diamond studded engagement and wedding rings. Well, if you can afford it, why not flaunt it, right? Take for instance the recent marriages of Britney Spears and Star Jones. When Britney Spears got engaged to her former back up dancer, Kevin Federline, she promptly bought herself an awesome-looking five-carat diamond engagement ring. (Does anyone really believe that Kevin bought this for her on his dancers salary?) Britney bought herself the ring she felt she deserved nothing wrong with that. Then, she and Kevin quickly made the leap to matrimony in a matter of months with a surprisingly nice (no lip kissing of Madonna) wedding ceremony. As for Star Jones, its not known whether her stunning seven-carat princess cut diamond ring was bought or donated, but she too happily skipped off to a wedding ceremony with all the trimmings. So, does all this extra diamond wattage mean that celebrities have a better wedding ceremony than everyone else? Absolutely, not. Theres absolutely no proof that their multi-carat diamond rings and fancy wedding accommodations gave them any more satisfaction at the alter than Joe and Jane Does down right sparse nuptials in a run-down back yard. Buying the biggest and fanciest diamond engagement ring on the planet doesnt guarantee anything but a nice piece of ice jewelry to show off to your family and friends. Other than that, celebrities have the same odds for a successful, happy union as the rest of us. And thats the way it should be. About The Author Copyright 2004 Donna Monday One special moment. About Trees

April 22nd, 2008 by bhagvatpilotte

By David Evermon Every gardener knows that trees are the thing that makes a garden, tree create the outline of a garden, can be used to separate different parts of garden to be used for different landscaping and sometimes used to create ea feeling of solitude and isolation form external features like neighbors or buildings. Naturally some of us, even the ones who are not the average gardener, simply love trees for what they are, to hear the wind blowing their leaves away or just for relaxing or taking a nap under a trees shadow is enough to appreciate a tree. But these days trees are becoming much more than that, with growing awareness to the environment trees are becoming a product, they serve as gifts and as special features in gardens and in front of houses. The gardening industry has expanded beyond simply cutting flowers and mowing the lawn, now there are garden designers, landscape artists and many more titles that are concerned with the general look of a garden, one of the important responsibilities when thinking of a garden design is to create harmony and balance which is impossible without trees, and when experts do the work they want very particular tees to complete the picture and this is where the new attitude toward trees begins. For example there is growing awareness to the olive tree today, since it is so hard to find and such a strong and wonderful tree many people would like to place it in their gardens as a symbol for the family to remember, the palm trees are growing in popularity because of the certain feeling that they give to people and many more other trees correspond to different needs. A crabapple tree is one of the most impressive trees you can have in a backyard or a garden, it is a tree that is of the family of the rose trees and its floors are magnificent, when you have such a tree in your garden you will surely pay attention to it and once it starts flowering you will have something very special happening just before your eyes, which by itself is a wonderful experience. Although owning trees may sound a little bad it is not at all the case, in fact the growing use of trees in private houses is contributing o the understanding and love of trees, it is very important that we lead to identify trees and that we recognize tree as a living thing that we all use in our every day activity, it is wonderful that children live by trees and learn to accept different trees as part of their family heritage, continuing it after their parents and creating a society that will love and protect trees in the future. Even if you do not have a house of your own and live in an apartment youu can still grow trees, bonsai trees are famous for their need of dedication and treatment, it is also known that many take their trees with them once moving out of places, strengthening the bond between human and plant, man and tree. Solar Lamp Post Fixtures For Your Outdoor Lighting

April 20th, 2008 by bhagvatpilotte

By Daren L. Bomaster Outdoor lighting is quickly becoming more recognized as just as important as indoor lighting. Consider using solar lamp post fixture for your outdoor lighting. More and more people are considering their outside area as part of their living space. Backyards, patios, and decks are all great places to entertain and the ambiance in your yard can be set with the right lighting. So they are spending a great deal more time deciding what the right lighting is. Sadly there are more examples of bad lighting out there than there are good. A common mistake is to place lighting in the wrong places which can cost light to filter into the neighbors yard, contribute to light pollution by shooting upwards, or just plain not effectively light your space. Here are some outdoor lighting tips: 1. Choose the most efficient lamp for the job. 2. Lighting on walkways, driveways, and garden areas should light the ground area. 3. Use timers to turn lighting on and off and in areas where appropriate use sensors to turn lighting on. 4. Make sure you aren’t polluting the sky with up ward lighting and make sure you aren’t annoying the neighbors. An important element in outdoor lighting is choosing efficient lighting that’s easy on the environment and on your pocket book because of reduced energy costs. And that’s why solar fixtures are certainly worth considering!! Them metal solar lamp post has the look of a traditional gas lamp from an era long gone. This classic fixture looks great and eludes of beauty and charm while providing security to your yard. The metal construction is the best because it’s strong and durable and not likely to be vandalized if placed in public areas. Choose a lamp with an extra large solar panel to get the maximum benefit. LED lights are best. The post needs to be mounted in full sun. The lamp will then charge during the day and then automatically turn on at night for anywhere from 8 to 10 hours. The LED light will burn 17 times brighter than other bulb types. A 7 inch solar panel with a 1 watt high powered LED will provide ample lighting. This is the perfect combination for both new and retro installations. Consider the correct placement of the lamp posts in your yard. They are a great choice for driveways, walkways, and for areas where you’ll be entertaining guests. They work well placed parallel or across from each other. There are different size bulbs available. The larger bulbs can provide area and security lighting while the smaller bulbs provide ambiance. If you plan to install during the winter months you’ll need to let the battery charge for at least a week in the mornings. Shut it off at night and do not allow it to operate until the battery has managed to get a full charge. It takes a bit longer during the winter months to get a functioning light because of the lack of sun light and the lower intensity. The installation is fairly simple. They come broke down in sections that quickly reassemble. Directions supplied by most manufacturers are adequate. sIf you are looking to make better use of your outdoor space the solar lamp post fixtures are the best choice in lighting! Daren has been lighting store for 10 years now and has become experienced with installing lighting in various areas. A Layman’s Commentary on the Gospel of Luke - Lesson VII, Part III

April 19th, 2008 by bhagvatpilotte

By T.O.D. Johnston Verse 21. So also those who hunger spiritually, who realize their own sinfulness and inability to meet the requirements of God, will receive blessing. Those who mourn over their sinful condition will receive real comfort and joy. Versus 22,23. It should be considered a great privilege to be despised and persecuted because of their faithfulness to Jesus. This is proof that their fellowship with God is true and the world rejects them. Rich blessings and exceeding joy are their reward. Verses 24-26. Jesus talks to those who dont follow Him who in self righteousness and pride are only happy about their earthly possessions. They seek only their own happiness based upon material things, not aware of their own responsibility, and dependence upon God. They will hereafter only realize their spiritual darkness with hopeless sorrow. To be praised by the unbelieving world only proves that they have no relationship with God. He who attempts to live a holy life will only lead to friction with the ungodly and thus become outcasts. The life of Jesus is the best example of pleasing God. This leads to hatred, rejection, and finally death at the hands of the ungodly. The previous verses describe some of the qualifications of those who are admitted as members of His kingdom. Verses 27-45. He describes the principles of living for the subjects of His kingdom in their relations with their fellow men. He speaks to all those present, not only His disciples. Everyone is obligated to meet those standards. Verse 27. All the principles are based on love - not as merely a sentiment but as action towards even those who are worse off but even those who are hostile. The Jews regarded their neighbors as those Jews who were equal to themselves - mainly those who could return their favors. Jesus goes so far as treating even enemies with giving and good will. Verses 28-30. Here Jesus gives practical examples of how this giving, good will must be practiced towards ones enemies. We must wish and pray for blessings for those who curse and insult us. Even if treated violently, no revenge should be taken. Hatred should never be returned. Wishing what is best for the other person does include rebuking the sinner with the hope of their repentance and therefore reconciliation. The author taught from the Gospel of Luke at Paran Baptist Church on Highway 341 / Johnsonville Hwy in Lake City, South Carolina. This commentary is based on the notes he took in preparation for the lessons. He now enjoys spending his time with his family, and at his art studio on 118 Sauls St., Lake City, South Carolina. Beach Tanning

April 16th, 2008 by bhagvatpilotte

By Eric Morris As summer approaches, white-skinned people make a beeline for beaches hoping to get the tanned look sported by famous models and actors. Tanning is often associated with healthy and athletic bodies, and today the trend is to get a light tan. Therefore, it is common to find people basking in the sun on beaches, without adequate protection in the form of sunscreen, broad-brimmed hats, or canopies. It may be fashionable to be lightly tanned, but medical practitioners decry the concept of tanning itself. In fact, they state that a tan is a skin problem. To those who are desperate for bronzed skin, they suggest faking the tanned look by using commercially available tanning lotions and sprays. Most models and actors adopt this option, as they are very conscious of the harmful effects of the suns ultraviolet rays. Premature aging, eye problems like cataracts, and skin cancer are some of the ill-effects of overexposure to the sun. Doctors suggest limiting outdoor activities between 10 am and 4 pm. In addition, they recommend the use of beach wear with ultraviolet protection, broad-brimmed hats, sunscreen, and canopies. Sunglasses that offer maximum protection from the ultraviolet rays are also a must for beach-goers. Water-resistant sunscreens should be applied liberally a few minutes before going on to the beach, and reapplied every two hours when on the beach. To conclude, there is a crucial need to create awareness among children and adolescents about the ill-effects of tanning. This is because surveys have shown that teenagers are most influenced by fashion trends, and prone to bask on beaches to develop a tan. Educational institutions and parents need to assume a proactive role to create awareness among children and adolescents. Teens and other avid tan fans should realize that it is not fashionable to be ill. Tanning provides detailed information on Tanning, Beach Tanning, Tanning Oil, Tanning Lotion and more. Amulet of Akkad - Can it Bring You Good Fortune

April 14th, 2008 by bhagvatpilotte

By Sacha Tarkovsky Deep within our early history is the story of the city Ur, and the Kingdom of Sumer. It predates the Jewish religion, and the father of all Jews, Abraham came himself from Ur. The Bible calls it Ur of Chaldea, which was one of the largest and first civilized areas in Mesopotamia. Urs history is well documented, and archaeologists are waiting to excavate the whole area. Standing at Ur today is the Ziggurat, or Temple to Nanna. There have been discovered massive amounts of black marble seals whose meaning and use have not yet been discovered. One King Ur-Nammu was a great civilizer, and had a code of laws that pre-dates those of Hammurabi. The secrets of Ur were known to its first conqueror, Sargon of Akkad. He reigned in his empire, which included Ur. There he was to become known as Sargon the Great. It was thought by historians that most of his history was lost, but in fact, a great deal of it rests with todays Kurdish people, and a sect they follow called Yazidi. The Yazidi Yazidi is highly esoteric religion, being a synthesis of the various religions that have passed by their area for the last 3,000 years. This encompasses the Zoroastrian, Manichaean, Jewish, Nestorian Christian, and even elements of Islam. The Yazidi speak Kurdish, but also Aramaic, the language of the Jews at the time of Jesus. These people, in a way that imitates the Ultra-Orthodox Jews, do not mix with outsiders to their culture. They believe that seven angels, following Gods will, rule the universe in His place. They also believe that God forgave Lucifer, and restored to him his position as chief of the angels. Most Moslems believe however that due to this belief, the Yazidi are Devil worshipers. The Yazidi hold many secrets, and one amongst them is the meaning of the Amulet of Akkad, and its power to repel the Evil Eye, bring good luck to whomever holds it, help one concentrate on their work and thus aids in commercial success. For the first time, one Kurdish man persuaded the Yazidi leaders to let the secret of the Amulet of Akkad out to the general public, as a method to raise consciousness, bring world peace, ease suffering, and foster love and not hate among the various religions. The Amulet of Akkad Produced in Turkey by Kurdish craftsmen, the Amulet of Akkad is now available only through this website. The price has been kept down to a bare minimum and in the range of being affordable by everyone.
